Nestival 2026

IT’S HATCHED - “N’ESTIVAL n’est pas festival” returns to The STRINES NIGHTINGALE for a 2 DAY gathering on the August Bank Holiday Weekend celebrating outernational music, art, nature, global folk, words and the wilderness.

Join us and our brooding flock at this unique secluded woodland arena on the edge of the Peak Forest in rural Stockport on Sat 29th / Sun 30th with a line-up of live entertainment, demonstrations, storytelling, DJ’s, interactive competitions and other multi-lingual makeshift japes.

Tickets can be found now via Seetickets.com with early bird options available TODAY. Meanwhile we’ll be down in the forest at @strinesnightingale building our stage, tweaking our schedule and expanding our regular Tree-Music roster for what promises to be an essential entry on the calendar of those who are ready to BRANCH-OUT and ROOT-DOWN for this unique N’estival weekender. 🍃🌳🍂🍁

“A fantastic example of how a rural pub can become a proper grassroots music hub.” – JAY TAYLOR - Music Venue Trust

Czech Proverb

These gigs won’t be his weirdest. He’s just got back from playing Nestival, a mini-festival in the forest in Stockport with Badly Drawn Boy, Andy Votel and Graham Massey from 808 State, where he inadvertently ended up announcing the winners of a “guess the bird call competition”.“

    INFORMATION PAGE FOR NESTIVAL 2026

    Woodland Stage

Please be prepared for the great outdoors!! The bulk of the festival will be outdoors come rain or shine.  The outdoor stage is down steps, slopes and  mildly inclined paths - it is not currently suitable for wheelchairs, we hope to improve this next year. Please get in touch  right away if you have any mobility issues! chris@strinesnightingale.com

We have 2 x  outdoor toilets.

    Kids & Dogs

We are not encouraging dogs, its not an ideal environment due to the large attendence . Sadly dogs  certainly wont be permitted into the woodland stage area.  They are permitted on the terrace if you are really stuck for a dog sitter.

Kids:  Even though Tree Music has always been very child friendly, this is slightly different and much busier.   If you want to bring your kids they are welcome until 8pm. A cheap childrens ticket is onsale now at £8.

    Food & Drink

Plenty of  food options ! Poutine, pies, pizzas and salads. Options for gluten free and vegan.

Drinks: Main bar with ten taps of local-ish breweries (Cloudwater, Sureshot, Torrside, Beartown) plus special guests: VERDANT  and NESTIVAL IPA.

Well stocked outdoor bar with a specially brewed draught  Nestival IPA / lagers, ciders, cocktails, frozen margaritas and craft cans.

*** PLEASE NOTE ONLY FOOD AND DRINK PURCHASED ON THE PREMISES CAN BE CONSUMED ON THE PREMISES  ***

    Transport

We have a car park with very limited space, we would suggest alternative transport means.

BUS:  We are served by the 358  with our very own stop  called The Strines Nightingale which connects us easily with Stockport, Marple, Hague Bar, New Mills and Hayfield. - https://www.stagecoachbus.com/routes/greater-manchester/358/stockport-hayfield/xjao358.o

TRAIN:  Strines has a station a 12 minute walk away with connections to Manchester Piccadilly , Sheffield, Edale, Dore, Marple, New Mills (a torch is useful in the dark)

CANAL  You'll find a path down to us directly from the Peak Forest Canal.

TAXI: We are serviced by UBER cars  and local firm Lynx.

    Accomodation

There are  campsites and hotel options  serviced by the 358 bus. Look into: New Mills, Marple, Hayfield,   Birch Vale, Hazel Grove and Stockport. Stockport  is the nearest space with plenty of hotels. 20 minutes on the bus directly outside the pub. Manchester city centre is 45 mins in a taxi.  There is a campsite walking distance to the pub, but they prefer members of the caravan club. (Whitecroft Farm).  Next year onsite camping options will be available!
